The LIFE IP CYzero WASTE project team is pleased to organise the online info event, “IMPLEMENTING PAY AS YOU THROW SYSTEM (PAYT): Successful examples in Mediterranean cities,” will be held on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (9:00 AM ETC).
The event aims to showcase the successful implementation of the Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) system in the city of Parma, Italy, and the resulting benefits of its use. This experience is a prime example of the application of economic tools aimed at reducing waste, promoting separate sorting at the source, and maximizing recycling. The implementation of PAYT in Parma serves as a best practice that can be applied in other countries, including Cyprus, which is planning to implement a PAYT system in July 2024.
