On December 17, 2024, the 3rd meeting of the Central Steering Committee of the LIFE IP Zero Waste Cyprus Project was held, with the aim of reviewing progress and coordinating actions toward Cyprus’ transition to a zero-waste future. The meeting took place at the Panos Solomonides Cultural Center in Limassol, with the participation of the members of the Central Steering Committee, as well as all involved project partners.

The session began with a presentation and discussion regarding the need to revise the timelines for the Deliverables and Milestones of the Project. The Committee members were informed about the existing schedules and examined the necessary changes to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the Project’s goals.

Next, there was an update on the completion of Deliverables and Milestones achieved since the previous meeting. At a later stage, the Committee members reviewed the Deliverables, validating their quality and completeness.

Subsequently, the discussion focused on the Project’s networking strategies. Collaborations with other organizations and the strengthening of relationships with international partners were analyzed, while the importance of continued networking for the promotion and support of the Project was emphasized.

During this section, the progress of actions implemented to date was presented. Additionally, the next steps, identified challenges, and proposed solutions were discussed.

An extensive briefing was provided on the progress of the Project’s implementation, and the necessary changes to the report to be submitted to the European Union were discussed. Members reviewed proposals for budget management and the effective allocation of resources.

During the open discussion, members had the opportunity to raise issues not included in the official agenda. Concerns were presented, solutions were proposed, and ideas were exchanged to improve the functioning of the Project.

The session concluded with the announcement of the date and preparations for the next meeting of the Committee, followed by the closing of the discussion.

The 3rd meeting of the Central Steering Committee reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders to the successful completion of LIFE IP Zero Waste Cyprus. Despite challenges, the Project’s progress remains steady, and collaborations are being strengthened toward achieving the goals of sustainable waste management and a circular economy.
